When planning to sell your home you want it to be in top condition when potential buyers start arriving. What can you do to make the best possible first impression?
We at Towne Realty have prepared a checklist to help you get ready for that important sale.
Answer the following questions.
Is your landscaping in good condition? Hedges trimmed? Yard cleared of leaves and papers? Fence in good repair?
How about your home exterior, has it been recently painted and repaired? Does your garage door open easily and quietly? Is the garage floor clean and free from grease? Tools neatly arranged?
How about your home interior, has it been freshly painted or clean? Are your carpets and curtains in clean and good condition? Make sure closets are neatly arranged, beds made, toys put away. Make sure that your kitchen range and oven are clean and the cupboards neat and faucets are in working order. Make sure that in the bathrooms your lavatory, commode and shower/tub are clean and in good condition.
Here are some other selling tips while your home is being shown:
- Put pets outside
- Turn off T.V.
- Let the real estate professional show your home; let him/her discuss price and terms with client
- Try not to be home when your house is being shown.
- Remain in background, if at home while house is being shown and only ask questions when asked.
- Do not volunteer information
